Bring on the Storm

Writer's picture: William and Samantha SollenbergerWilliam and Samantha Sollenberger

It's the last day of January and we have a big snow storm starting here in central PA. Willie and I loaded up the kiddos and did the chores together this morning. With a 3 1/2 month old and an almost 2 year old, getting ready is half the battle. That being said, I don't get to do the chores much in the winter. Corbin enjoys the outdoors so much. It's worth bundling him up to get the fresh air and he loves to help mommy clean. His absolute favorite thing to do is help daddy with the skid load. I'll never win the battle of the coolest parent as long as daddy has that, but he's pretty impressed with mommy when she takes her turn on it. We have a room in our barn we call "the office". It has a sink, a mini fridge for medications, and cabinets for all of our supplies. As long as the water is running, Hallie sits in her car seat and falls asleep while we work. It's a wonderful thing that she does!

We did have another nanny give birth yesterday, but the baby didn't make it. We're not sure why this one didn't make it. It was a bummer because that nanny gave us a very nice buck last year and is a great momma. Now, we are at a total of 17 kids for the year with 2 nannies left to have.

We moved the billies into their own pens today. Rock is our youngest billy, but he's already starting to do his job. Ace has done us well and we will be selling him in the near future. Email me if interested.

Now, we will sit back and enjoy the snow fall as we snuggle up with the little ones.
